Honor bestowed for making a notable impact in data analytics at Assurant
ATLANTA –- The Georgia State University (GSU) Risk Management Foundation, Inc., recently presented Tamer Soliman, vice president of data analytics at Assurant, its Rising Champion Award. The award recognizes a GSU graduate under the age of 45 who has made a notable impact on their company or professional field.
“We are very excited to recognize Mr. Soliman for his data analytics contributions at Assurant,” said Richard Phillips, dean of the Robinson College of Business at GSU and the C.V. Starr professor of risk management and insurance. “We have seen incredible growth in the field of predictive analytics, and at the Robinson College we are committed to preparing the next generation of business leaders with our big data analytics lab in the Institute for Insight.”
Soliman, who received the honor at the ‘The Riskies’ ceremony held on May 19, 2016, has more than 15 years of international and domestic experience as a business and analytics leader with a focus on descriptive, predictive and prescriptive analytics to drive business growth and operational efficiencies. He leads the Assurant data analytics team and has been instrumental in many strategic initiatives including the formation and evolution of an International Risk Management group.
“It’s an honor to receive this award,” said Soliman. “It is partly a reflection of the fast-growing importance of data analytics. At Assurant, our team is managing troves of available data and transforming it into valuable insights for our company and our clients.”
Soliman earned a bachelor’s degree from GSU in computer science.
